The playground was full of children. They ran around, laughed and enjoyed their time together. There were swings, seesaws, a climbing frame and trees to run around or enjoy their shade.
Jan visited the playground with his sister June and his favorite aunty. Also other children from the building were there. They played catch and it was a wild show of running around. The children were quite good in not running into each other.
But today, Jan had an accident. While they were playing catch he ran towards the tree and did not see that another boy was also running to the tree, but from the other direction. Both laughed while running and then it happened. They ran into each other at full speed.
Both were very surprised and did not realise that they were hurt. Jan was taller than the other boy and his mouth hit the forehead of the other boy. While the boy’s forehead was developing a bump. Jan was bleeding.
Aunty and his sister rushed to him and soon saw the source of the blood. He had a hurt his teeth and lips. They quickly packed their things together and went to the dentist with him.
The dentist cleaned the wound, took, and Xray and saw that Jan had a chipped tooth and part of it was still inside. He had to take out the broken and still stuck tooth. Jan was scared and he could now feel that it was painful. The doctor gave him medicine against the pain and then removed the left over tooth peace. Jan was very brave.
And his injury soon healed. But he had a gap now and had to wait for his big tooth to grow. Luckily the chipped tooth was just a baby tooth! He could soon eat all the foods he wanted again.
