Contest Brief

For this contest, we're looking to see the best original interpretation of a real, actual ancient Egyptian wall-art element and 3 hieroglyph symbols. I also will need an illustrated "alphabet". sample.

1) you may pick which 3 hieroglyph symbols you wish to uniquely illustrate, but they must be full-color high-detail as if just freshly painted on the walls of the Pharaohs tomb.

2) Select 2 wall-art characters to uniquely illustrate. these should be SINGLE characters, not groups. The 2 characters can come from 2 different sources. Again, this should be high-quality-art, full color, with the appearance it was just freshly-painted on the walls of your Pharoah's tomb.

3) Please illustrate 5 letters of the English alphabet. Please illustrate in a style that reflects the "ancient egyptian" art style you illustrated in the hieroglyphs and character art above.

*A winning design must meet our visual expectations of looking like it "belongs" on the golden-gilded walls of a palace or tomb in Ancient Egypt. Contest winner will get offered a full Project to complete a full alphabet, numerous hieroglyphs, and numerous wall art images.

***There have been some questions regarding the style I'm looking for. To help clairify, please see the attached images. I'm looking for that style of colored hieroglyphs you see in the images AND for those full-color type characters. I'm wanting to see you illustrate them in a full-color as if that painting had just been completed rather than the 2000-year-old-look it appears in the images attached.

*Project Brief updated to include some reference images. The images are a reference for the colored hieroglyph style i'm looking for. The images also show the full-color character images i'm looking for. Keep in mind i'm just looking for you to take this style and make it "fresh" as if you were the one who painted it on the wall 2000 years ago.

For all entries, the following is the most important thing to remember: "....this should be high-quality-art, full color, with the appearance it was just freshly-painted on the walls of your Pharoah's tomb....". It should be colored the way an ancient egyptian would color his wall painting.

Hello MSP Games, I want to thank you for inviting me to your contest. Unfortunately I don't create work for contest on Freelancer because I consider the practice spec work. If you one day are interested in looking for an illustrator for a freelance job, please feel free to contact me.

I'm looking for an artist who can meet the unique style for my larger project, and unfortunately i saw no samples in anyones portfolio which exactly matched that style. This contest is intended to give that "one illustrator" who can meet the style requirements a chance to show they can do so and so we may set up a formal project contract. If such a sample-creation process is not appealing to you, i'm sorry i cant consider your work for this project but will hope you submit bids on other less-style-specific projects I put out in the future.

The final project (for which this contest is a "try-out"), will require a custom font of all letters in the English alphabet. I would like to see how you would illustrate a couple letters so i can get an idea how you'd illustrate all letters. (e.g. illustrate letter A and letter R)

The key is that however you provide the art, that it will end up as a high-quality digital file we can use to "reprint" the image at the same quality you created it. If your paint and scan can meet that quality requirement, then by all means create in the style you are best at! :)

Dear Sirs, is which format do the illustrations have to be provided? I use paint on paper and can send a scan. Will this suffice, or is a vector file necessary? Thank you in advance for your reply
