CONTEST BRIEF
Have you heard about progressive web apps? They are the future of the web!

I have a desktop design for my site. You will design the mobile version as a progressive web app (PWA).

WINNER SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Thoughtfulness that went into mobile EXPERIENCE (navigation, swiping, ...)
2. Thoughtfulness to make mobile take advantage of Progressive Web App features (compare to the best mobile news apps, the best PWA apps)
3. Maintaining a consistent look and feel with desktop theme, same fonts, same readability, ...
4. Design versions for all pages and interactions in the sketch file
5. Bonus: if you can demo clicking around / experience with something like invision
6. Bonus: this job is kind of urgent. If you want to increase your chances, participate fast.

Fonts are Proxima Nova and Freight Text (from Typekit).

bottom row can be used for icons or links. I can think of "home", "about us", "services", and "notifications/join list/be an insider" (which could be an email-sign up or something like that).

one of the things nearly everyone has missed so far is the category pages and their unique backgrounds. in the mock designs, that is illustrated with a blue wallpaper in one of the category pages. notice how in that page there are only posts with that category. in the mobile design too, you need to reproduce this.

download the google news app on your phone. go to headlines. see the categories and how you interact. that will be our behavior of the top of the page.
In a wordpress context, as I add new categories, it would add categories here. If you want to experiment with colors, look at the category colors already on the home page.
