Website on WP for a School Project (Posting + Monetisation)

Contest Brief

Hello,

We need help finalising a website for a pilot school project in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The goal is to teach Financial Education during English classes. The students are in their final year of school, and many of them will go to university next year.

We have started creating a website where students will research and write articles (always supervised by a teacher!) about gold, which is a neutral topic that students enjoy.

IMPORTANT: the website must be able to generate revenue (for example, through Google AdSense) and it must be simple to publish articles, because we plan to post one article every day. Each day, one student will help publish their article.

The idea behind the website is to monetise it (for example with Google AdSense — but we are open to other suggestions) to help cover the costs of the project and, hopefully, also contribute towards the students’ end-of-year celebration (a prom, as they say in the US).

You are welcome to use AI tools to work on the website if you wish; that is not a problem for us. As long as the work gets done well, we do not mind how you do it. We would like the website to have a boxed layout, include the live gold price, and have a simple gold price calculator (these features should be easy to add). The attached image shows approximately what the homepage should look like. The image probably explains the idea better than our words. The subpages can be left empty or filled with placeholder text.

We have also prepared a logo using Canva. We have not yet finalised the colour palette, but I should have that information soon. We will happily provide any additional information or materials you may need.
We plan to keep the website running for at least three years, possibly longer. I am currently the point of contact because of my level of English, but I will probably not be involved for more than a year. Because of this, please also provide a brief overview of how to edit and manage the website based on the system you build.

Once the project is finished, we will provide another domain (on the same hosting) so that you can clone the website. We will then change the text from English to Portuguese so that teachers who do not speak English can use the second website for their own project (no illegal issues)

I have good IT knowledge and have built my own websites before (I used to love WP Vantage template). If I did not have to prepare so much teaching material over the next few days/weeks, I would probably try to build and test the site myself. However, we agreed to pay someone and also benefit from any suggestions or ideas you might have.

The sooner it is done, the better for us. So please be honest about your availability and timeline. I will be reachable every day and can respond quickly if you need anything.

We are happy to create three milestones: The first will be released once the project has started; the second when the website is completed; and the third once the website has been cloned and everything is finished.

REMEMBER: the core principle is to have a website that is easy for students (with supervision) to manage and that helps us monetise the project.

FYI: Apologies for the long text, we just want to be comprehensive. We got tired of too many generic ChatGPT-style responses from freelancers asking for much higher amounts, sometimes requesting advance payments, making other unusual demands or not replying to our messages. For this reason, I am reposting this project. I have used Freelancer before and never had any issues, hopefully we keep this way. Let’s keep Freelancer a fair place for both sides.
