Contest Brief

Write a short story with next requeriments:
- should follow guidelines of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_story
- max extension 3000 words. It must be something that you can narrate out loud from start to end without boring or tiring your listeners
- the story must be around and/or set in the sinking of the Titanic
- there are many conspiracy theories surrounding the sinking of the Titanic that can be of use for the story.

- H. P. Lovecraft short stories are a good reference of the type of story to write.

- readers target: any person 17 years and older that understand english language
- must be narrable out loud
- no sexual content
- no abusive, obscene nor bad language
- no abbreviations
- no too specific country's words
- no grammatical, spelling, syntactic or semantic errors
- content related to love or romance should be minimal or zero

    Dear Contest holder, If you have been really serious about posting this contest , why do you reject good ones that stick to truth instead of fiction copied of Wikipedia, which you can clearly see how many of the rated entrys does that. Good luck.

      @kerstin P., If you are talking about conspiracy theories copied from Wikipedia then that is okay as long as the entry is in the story format….you are arguing about why the CH is choosing stories over facts. That’s what the contest is about. We have to write stories not facts. Correct me if I am wrong

      It isnt ok to copy from wikipedia. I can see who does and who doesnt. Uniqueness and truth should be what the story went for. It is a short story , questions take the readers directly to the focus point. Good luck with the winner.

      Yes, as I always do, I'll wait to the contest's deadline to start reading the entries, and then choose a winner.
      In all the past contests I got some interesting stories.
      The problem is the amount (usually +65%) of entries that are just spam, c&p and anything except a story.
      I would like freelancer.com does something about this. I always reject & report the spam and c&p entries. But it seems makes no effect, nothing changes...

    Dear CH... Iam both agreed and sorry to hear that... I just now have one question in my mind... I would really like if you can help me... The question is will the story will have to use the name Titanic only? I mean can I use any other ship avoiding Real ones? As a story CH you know that connecting a folklore or paranormal story with a real incident sounds not really great... I have made a plot for your story which Isn't going well with the name Titanic... So It's just my concern... I want to use a ship which never existed...

      Mmmmmh... But the story must be related to the sinking of the Titanic. If any other ship appears in your story, you could name it whatever you like. Those details could be reviewed if your story wins.
