I tried to do the same with a recording on an mp3 and we managed to reduce background noise and I did the voice more clear,can not permanently remove background noise if very large ,can reduce the noise that his presence will be lower by reducing frequencies,i'm sound engineer, composer with an age of 6 years in this area,if you want, can try....
