Overview Our company wants to convert AutoCAD 2D files into SolidWorks 3D files. We also need new 2D views created in SolidWorks. Step 1 Create 3D models in SolidWorks based on the 2D files in AutoCAD. Send us the PRT files. Step 2 Create the SolidWorks 2D dimensioned drawing. This should look exactly the same as the AutoCAD files. Send us the IGS, SLDDRW, and SLDPRT files. ## Deliverables Additional Information ? The 2D views that you make in SolidWorks should be the same as the views in AutoCAD. Reference the attached drawing templates ([login to view URL] A, B, C). ? Do not sketch outlines. Work from flat metal, and then add your bend flanges. ? When you add your bend flanges for sheet metal parts, you will prompted in SolidWorks by a screen to enter bend deductions and K-factors for the appropriate metal thickness. Reference the attached PDF file (K FACTOR [login to view URL]) to see a table listing different types of sheet metal, thicknesses, and bend deductions/K factors. Unless otherwise noted, our bend radius is 0.008. ? Extrude from the plane up. ? All of our measurements are in inches. ? Do not lock the files. Parts should be saved as parts files, drawings should be saved as drawing files. ? Sheet metal parts need to be designed using the sheet metal feature in SolidWorks. ? Machined parts need to be done with the cut and extrude features in SolidWorks. ? For sheet metal parts, holes shall be done using the hole wizard in SolidWorks. ? When dimensioning the 3D parts, always use three decimal places. ## Platform SolidWorks
