The contractor will be accountable to the contract manager (working with the County Commissioner and designated others) for the provision of effective, high quality co-ordination, administration and maintenance of our online/e services (website, social media, email system, event registration/payments systems, metrics reporting) and newsletter, which is produced and distributed electronically, as well as contributing to monitoring, scoping the development of these sites and services in support of the volunteer technical people leading on these projects.
• Maintaining and updating the website content including the Members Area
• Maintaining members accounts, new and dealing with website enquiries, making sure that records are reconciled with national database records
• Researching and writing effective copy for online website and social media pages and using the content management system to maintain site content
• Co-ordinate research, writing, editing, production and distribution of the monthly e-newsletter within a set framework in support of existing volunteers
• Chasing and co-ordinating content from members on a regular basis; working with the CC and County Team to put in place an annual schedule
• Regularly uploading papers for County meetings to designated areas of the website and/or cloud space as directed
• Develop and maintain an indexed online bank of photos for use in marketing and communications
• Co-ordinate, collate and contribute to writing and editing the Annual Report and other publications
• Maintain @avonscouts email accounts and resolve any enquiries or difficulties with accounts
• Implement plans to promote linking to our website from external websites; develop contact and relations with other organisations to achieve this
• Prepare copy for use on external organisation’s websites, promoting Scouting as part of an employer engagement strategy
• Prepare quarterly reports on website and social media performance metrics using Google analytics

I have been responsible for the design and development of online services for over 7 years. I have redesigned websites including the intranet and internet for Western District Health Service, managed content (Sustainable Farm Families) and written newsletters (and blogs). Whilst working at the University of Melbourne I managed 300 Australian Association of Constitutional Law members accounts; updating the database, sending out reminders and developing and writing newsletters.
During my time at the Country Fire Authority I worked with volunteer firefighters and community members so I understand the complexities that exist in that environment.
