We want to add color samples to our products, so customers can see a little square of color when they order a wig.
To do this we need to name the color sample pictures correctly, and upload them.
I attached a rar file with an excel spreadsheet, and two folders with color samples for two of our brands. In the excel spreadsheet, we have all colors for productcodes beginning with WA_ and CL_(Mona Lisa brand), and for Productcodes beginning with WB_ (Sepia brand). You can skip productcodes beginning with other letters, they were mixed in on some rows, and take too long for me to remove.
To create color swatches we have to create 3 pictures for each color for each product.
The columns you well need to use are A (ID), C(optiondesc), and H(applytoproductcodes)
The color names are in the C(optiondesc), column in spreadsheet. The productcodes are in the H(applytoproductcodes). The color samples are in the two folders in the Rar file. The wa_files folder has color samples for Mona Lisa products beginning with “WA_” or “CL_” the wb_files are samples for the Sepia products, productcodes starting with “WB_”.
I will give links to the color chart pages on our site in case any are missing.
To create the color swatches you need to use the information in excel. So for each productcode in the H(applytoproductcodes) column, multiple productcodes are separated by commas, we need to create 3 photos named like this.
In row 260 of [login to view URL] color name (optiondesc) is “10”, so you would need to use color sample from wa_files folder in the RAR, named 10.jpg.
Then for each productcode that has that color create a 3 copies:
[login to view URL] (full size)
[login to view URL] (full size)
[login to view URL] (50x50 pixels)
231121 is the number the A(ID) column, WA_Danielle is the first product code in H260 cell.
The pictures for the next productcode in H260 cell would be;
[login to view URL] (full size)
[login to view URL] (full size)
[login to view URL] (50x50 pixels)
If there is not a color sample for a color, you can check our colorchart page; and see if the color is there, and save a sample. If the sample has a model, just crop the picture so only hair shows, and make it same size as others. You can skip colors that you can not find sample for. We may send you more sample if we can find them somewhere and have you add them later as separate project.
I am thinking the quickest way to do this would be to use Excel to create a .bat file that copied renamed all the color samples for you. Do you know how to make Windows .bat files? They use command line commands like copy and rename, so I think you could add commands to each row in excel, then paste the whole thing in an .bat and run it to have it copy and rename all the color photos. Or maybe you know a better way.
Also don’t create photos for any row that has “11” in the B(optioncatid) column. Those don’t need swatches.
While you’re add it please add descriptions to the colors productcodes. Our color chart links above have names for many ofthe colors. So color every color 1 in the C(optiondesc) column can be replaced with “1- Black” which is on that color chart page. “2’ can be replaced with “2 – Very Dark Brown”, ect.
You can also check the color chart pages I sent links to double check what the color file is named. They should match colors in optiondesc column, but have “/” replaced with “_’, but there might be a few inconsistences.
The wb_ color chart has different sizes than the wa_ color chart. That is ok, you don’t need to resize that large versions.
