This is a sample of what I've recently been working on:
You’re ok. Breathe. Just breathe. Open your eyes. Come back. It’s ok. It’s over now. You’re ok. Wake up. Please wake up. Don’t do this to me. Don’t do this to me. I love you so much.
Come back.
I woke up in a cold sweat. I laid in bed with my eyes closed, and thought about a time before I came to be a prisoner in this cold, sterile place. I remembered a man, people screaming, explosions, but that’s all. My head was pounding from the memories, or really the lack thereof.
I opened my eyes, only to be blinded by a bright white light directly above me. I tried to raise my hand to cover my eyes, but couldn’t move at all. I was strapped to a metal table. I turned my head to my left to see monitors with my vitals on it. I looked to my right. There was a woman standing over me, writing on a clip board. Her eyes narrowed as they met mine.
“Awake finally?” she quipped. She scribbled something else onto her clipboard, then set it down on a little table close to us. Her gloved hand came up under my chin and lifted my face so she could look into my eyes. “Number 9665, you are undergoing very interesting changes. We injected you with The Virus a month ago, yet you haven’t acted aggressively towards any of the other subjects. In fact, you seem to be quite calm. Your eyes are still clear; you still speak coherently. We are going to test you further,” she sneered
