Proposed Technologies: I am proposing the highly reliable platform of Microsoft. The database should be developed in MSSql Server and the presentation layer should be Asp.net MVC. Asp.net MVC is the best choice for websites having huge Data and Implementation, because it offers separation of concerns inside the development environment making development, maintainance and modifications easy. If you are planing to develop a mobile presentation later also, then i would suggest Restful layer as well that will help use only one layer for multiple platforms.
