Develop a Calculation Engine for a Web Application

“Calculation Engine” is a part of our larger “Web Application” that allows comprehensive processing for our clients. The inputs from the “Web Application” will be fed into the “Calculation Engine” in a pre-defined format through API. The “Calculation Engine” would do the calculations based on the pre-configured formula / algorithm and send the result back to the “Web application” by return API for further activities. Our “Web Application” is built using ASP.NET MVC with SQL server as the back end. It also exposes the necessary API's for communicating with the “Calculation Engine”. The “Calculation Engine” needs to be integrated with this “Web Application” and hence, the technology chosen should be enable high-speed computing and be compatible for API based integration. This requirement would consist of the three modules (Please See the attachement for Details 1 . Formula editor 2. Calculation engine 3. Simulator We will provide more details on the formula and algorithm for calculation once we see your skill set matching for this requirement. We also request you to suggest the best technology for this solution along with the approach you may take. Please note that speed is extremely important hence avoid too many IO at calculation level, It must work more on memory function and give excellent response One record processing at a time – for every record there might be n number of calculation formulas – for every formula there might be n number of steps. As these needs to process thousands of records and each of record may access same formula’s you may plan to read all formula’s needed beginning of first call and keep in memory to process subsequent records Please note: 1. Our Internal Development Team will have a round of QA with you if we find your bid & Skills suitable before we can short-list you. 2. Milestones would be discussed with the short-listed candidates. 3. Our Internal team will have review calls just to make sure we do not miss the agreed timelines. 4. After the development is completed, we will conduct detailed unit & Volume/Load Testing. All the identified bugs need to be fixed. 5. Project will be accepted after our internal developer and QA teams certify that code is free from bugs; we have received all the deliverables and complete source code per included instructions.
