I have worked on calculators before and this sounds like a really cool project, but I do have a couple of quick questions: - Will your calculator be part of an existing website or is this as a tool that will be used on many websites? I presume the style must match what you have already? - Do you also have the formula for cost of shipping for different weights etc, or would that be pulled from a third-party tool somewhere, such as DHL etc? - Would you require use of JQuery or raw javascript? I have built a fairly complex couple of calculators before, both in the yachting industry. The main one was with a map where a user would draw a route of their yachting itinerary and then calculate fuel emissions and the cost of the fuel depending on engine size etc, very similar kind of thing. That was during my 11 year full-time job as the sole in house developer for a yacht charter business in France. I would love to hear from you about your project.
