automatic image annotation

I have worked on clustering algorithms such weighted k-Means algorithm very recently and thus grasping the concepts involved for segmentation of such an image should be easy for me even if I have to read a couple of more papers for new ideas. I am a physics PhD student, my research is about imaging techniques, analysis and inversion. I do most of my work in Matlab and python so have much experience with numerical image processing and working with large image datasets. I have previously written many automated algorithms for image data sorting, manipulation and analysis. It would be great if you could provide me with some more information about the images, segments and region types etc. and I can give you a better idea of time, cost and implementation. Thanks H

Having placed a bid on your project, it can't escape my realization that your project description is seriously lacking in details. How far do you wish to go in segmentation - do you even wish to recognize the objects you've segmented, or simply tag regions as region1, regionN etc. Not knowing your problem's convexity, I have had to overbid both on the number of days to completion and the cost.
