Design an input screen in the form of a grid to enter or modify data in an Access 2000 database. It must also work for 2003 through 2010 databases.
An employee selects their name from a dropdown list on another form and the grid opens allowing them to enter/modify their hours for the month.
Down the left hand edge are all dates for a selected month (i.e. up to 31 rows) with the rows for weekends and holidays formatted in a different color. The dates are preloaded into a table (tblCalendar which includes dates, months and workday status - holidays and weekends are identified). The month to be displayed is selected in a dropdown box on another form.
Across the top are the names of available projects. These are stored in a table (tblProjects including the projectID, project name and status active/inactive) with only the active projects being listed.
The data (hours)is entered at the intersection of date and project. The data is stored in a table(tblProjectHours which includes, date, project, hours and employee name). The data should be summed across for the daily total and down for the project total.
This replaces an Excel sheet a sample of which is provided. A copy of the database with the tables can be provided upon request.
