Development of Activity Tracker link between App and Moodle
- The activity tracker will be used to track the amount of physical activity undertaken, in minutes.
- Coaches/Experts who conduct the physical activity, who will then use the App to add the ‘Date’ and ‘Minutes’ to the users that participated in the physical activity, will collect the data. This will be done through the ‘Groups’ feature.
- The data which is captured through the app will be stored in the moodle database - mdl_physical_activities – and will collect the following information – “Date”, “Minutes”, “Course” and “Expert”
“Date” – The date in which the activity took place.
“Minutes” – the number of minutes that the physical activity lasted
“Course” – The moodle course in which the data is related to
“Expert” – The user that has uploaded the data
The Groups function should be directly linked to the “User” and “Course” in which a user that is uploading data, will only see the “Course” which they have been appointed as a “Expert”, and through their login on the App, will only see the “Groups” they have created themselves.
The admin, Manager, and Course Creator, will be able to see all Groups created in the course by all “Experts”.
The ability to create and edit groups should be available both Online and Offline modes, as well as the ability to send the Activity Tracker data to the moodle database, to be available offline and then uploaded later, or to be uploaded live with an internet connection.
