Project Description: We have a small car washing business. We are looking for a way to simplify our work orders and invoicing system. We currently log everything in writing by hand , then transfer it onto an excel worksheet. We would like to fully automate it into computerized version. When a car comes into our shop we do the following. Write down the vin(vehicle identification ) number, color, make , model, time started, time ended, employee code of the person who performed the service. work needed and work done, Aftert the work is done, I go home and once again put all that information into an excel worksheet but now include the price for each service and send an invoice. Given that all cars nor have a barcode I was hoping i could scan the VIN barcode with my iphone or android where it can easily populate all the fields and then select the services done from drop down menus. This would give me data on what time the work started, what time it ended and would eliminate entering so much individual information.
