This is a very simple project with no immediate urgency.
The project is to build a simple webpage to show a table with coloured bullets to represent daily status of backup jobs for about 15 servers. The table should show results for the last week (weekdays only) including the current day.
The table in the Access database holds the name of the backup job (which cross-references to another table to get the server name to be shown on the table) as well as a field for status with one of three conditions: successful, failed or completed and the date that the data is recorded. The fourth condition that needs to be represented by a coloured bullet on the table is where no entry is present on that day for a specific server.
The querying code will have to work out the days of the week to represent them from the current date and the date recordeed field in the database, taking account of the neccessity to ignore weekends. However, the date recorded should actually represent the previous day of the week (a backup that is recorded as finshing on a Tuesday is what we refer to as Monday's backup, a recorded date of Saturday is what we refer to as Friday etc.)
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
Must be written in asp .net (ideally 2.0 and ideally VB) webpage linking to simple access database. This should be easy to point to an MS SQL server instead with the same table structure when we upgrade.
