Click-through Parse and Capture

We have a custom-written, ASP-based application with a SQL Server 2000 backend database.? The application sends rich-HTML content emails to an opt-in mailing list.? EMail campaigns are sent to groups of users using the application ([login to view URL]).? We would like to add Click-through management and tracking to the application.? We want to know which links in the email were clicked on. ## Deliverables 1)? An asp page ([login to view URL]) that when given a querystring "CID" will do the following a)? Locate the record in the database with a given ContentID b)? Read the HTML-Content c)? Parse the content, locating any unprocessed [tags using Regular Expressions d)? Insert the? source(old) and? target(new) links into the database (calling a stored procedure) e)? Replace the "href" portion of the tag with a URL I will specify and setting an attribute to indicate the href is? processed f)? Save the content back to the record 2)? An asp page ([login to view URL]), which will take a link ID created in 1.d,e and increment its counter then redirect the user to the source URL The end result is a system that can tell me how many times each link in an email campaign were clicked and by whom.
