If you have experience with C++Builder 5 or 6 AND Delphi 7 AND writing interfaces to DLLs, this project may be for you.
This project involves porting one sample project to Borland Delphi 7. The sample project is in C++ and uses a DLL. The deliverable is Delphi 7 source code for an EXE that successfully talks to the same DLL. Complete C++ source for the DLL is available.
Make sure you have read and understood this basic information before you even consider bidding:
The C++ code in question is the Adaptive Communication Environment ("ACE"). (( Reference: ACE home page: [[login to view URL]~schmidt/[login to view URL]][1] ))
We have compiled ACE from source into [login to view URL] for Windows using C++Builder's compiler. I want to call [login to view URL] from Delphi 7. There are dozens and dozens of header files that define the interface.
Initially we are trying to port one test program, SOCK_Connector_Test.
We have a version that compiles and runs from Delphi 7, but, and this is a big but, we get a strange Winsock error (incorrect address) when executing the connect method. When called from C++ Builder 5, there is no error.
The source files and a copy of our partial solution is available and will be provided via FTP to anyone who sends in a reasonable reply. You do not have to sign an NDA, just give some indication of your experience with C++ objects, DLLs and Delphi 7, and we will give you the FTP login.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code (C++ and Object Pascal) of all work done.
The working program needs to provide the "connect" feature demonstrated in the [login to view URL] program.
2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
