Online Education company seeks experienced contractors for Video Conferencing Client Server Software. Contractor will need to be comfortable working with another programmers existing code base. Programmer must have experience with C++, ATL (Active Template Library), Active X; Windows Media Encoder 7.1 + 9, Windows Media DRM tools, Linux and Windows development environments, and general web skills. Do not apply if you do not have experience with application development and work with Media Encoder. Project available immediately. Contractor will need to be comfortable picking up where the last programmer left off and working with his existing code base. First phase of work (first 4 weeks) will be an intense debugging of the custom C++ application (Network Layer, Monitor), the MYSQL database, and encoder issues as well as adding a few new features to the system. Contractor should be experienced in debugging processes as well as start-to-finish application development. From there new functionality will be added to support multi-casting, DRM solutions, etc. The existing system is build using Encoder with a custom C++ API we developed the communicates with a MYSQL PHP database for handling peer-to-peer video broadcasts that are charged on a per-minute basis. Contractor need to send references, resume and have good communication skills. Integrity, self-motivation and ability to see where problems exist and take initiative to suggest and tackle corrections is key. Project available immediately. New features will include configuring Windows Media Encoder to load a custom profile settting (prx file) with a lowered buffer delay and transmital of video via UDP rather that TCP to lower delay (currently 6-8 seconds). Additionally system will need to be able to multi-cast through utilization of Windows Server 2003. Total project in 6 weeks. Apply imediately.
