This project will involve two major steps. The first step is to simply add a column to what is labeled as table4. For each protein in table 4, please use its name to search for a match in the [login to view URL] table (note there are 3 sheets in this workbook). Simply take the first match, it does not need to be an exact match but should contain the word. Once a match is found, please place the Genbank number in the final column of table 4. For the second phase of the project, you will use only Table 4. For each Genbank number in project 4, search it against the a publicly available web-based database. Use the following URL: [login to view URL] In this example, the number "76647810" is the Genbank ID being searched. It will retrieve a new number that begins with XP_ or NP_, take this entire number, record it in a new column in the spreadsheet and then search that number against this URL: [login to view URL] note that "NP_001103469" is the new number to be searched. In the record retrieved, please look on this page for a tag called PUBMED. It will have a number next to it. In retrieving the records, a PUBMED tag can have several numbers or no tag may exist at all. Please retrieve up to three of these and place them in another column in the spreadsheet (table 4). Finally, for each pubmed number, place it into the following URL: [login to view URL] Then, put the following information into the spreadsheet (use the example search result here to understand the fields) journal: Biol Chem year: 2006 title: Molecular identification and pharmacological profile of the bovine kinin B1 receptor. abstract: To support the study of kinin pharmacology... This process will be done for up to three PUBMED IDs per protein ID.
