Customize bbpress forum to include special tags

We want to customize the default bbpress theme to make certain tags special. These tags will not appear in the tag cloud. Instead, they will be available as a list of checkboxes to choose. These special tags would also display as small icons and determine the thread's background color in the forum's home page. ## Deliverables Our site is this: [login to view URL] It has a different section for 'paid' and 'solved' items. We want to eliminate these different sections and turn them into tags. The special tags would be defined in some constant in the code. Each different tag will have an icon, background color and a short description. The special tags will not appear in the tags cloud. The edit pages will include a list of checkboxes for the tags. These checkboxes will update the DB using Javascript (no 'save' button). Also, the main forum page and each forum section would list the threads and include the special tags. The icons will appear next to the thread title and the thread's background color will come from the tags. If more than one tag is set, the background color will be determined by the first tag. Tag order will be according to the way we list them (where the special tags are defined). In addition, the project will include a script for migrating the data from the current way it's organized to using tags. The 'solved' and 'paid' sections will be eliminated. All threads in these sections will go to the troubleshoot section, and will be tagged with the respective tags.
