Looking for an iPhone/iPod Touch programmer to create a deluxe flash card program similar to the combination of JFile ([url removed, login to view]) and Flash! ([url removed, login to view]) available for the Palm. The app must be able to create/randomize both single and multiple-choice answers from any two columns (chosen by the user) of a multi-column spreadsheet (such as Excel or Google Docs) or multi-field database app (such as FileMaker Pro). User must be able to easily create own spreadsheets/databases and upload these into the app. Flash cards should have rudimentary multimedia (at least image) capabilities. "Smart" testing (app modifies testing over time or re-tests only those items missed) and reverse (front-to-back or back-to-front) testing necessary; the multiple-choice feature and the ability to choose which columns/fields to test are critical.
I have a number of FileMaker databases that I ported to the Palm for use with JFile and Flash! that I'd like to see in turn ported to the iPhone/iPod Touch. However, users should be able to create their own content, so I suppose there's a database component to the app (my Palm solution was actually two apps--JFile, a database app, and Flash!, the actual flashcard app, which took its data from the JFile databases). I don't foresee this as being a particularly graphic-rich application (other than the app logo and maybe some dingbats, checkboxes, etc.).
I have limited ability to pay (grad student); in exchange for creating an app that would be not only usable and marketable AND beat out anything else on the market, I would allow the programmer(s) to retain full licensing and sales/marketing rights to the app. I just need this before I take my board exams (very soon)!
