This is pretty easy for an experienced java programmer.
I need a java function that will be able to create a desktop shortcut on the following operating system distributions: Windows (all versions above 3.1), ( Mac OS X is preferred but NOT NECESSARY). The function should detect the operating system correctly. And creates a shortcut on that specific platform.
The desktop shortcut solution must not have a "hard-coded" location because it will be used in an installation program. As such, the file that the program will create the shortcut to will vary.
It must be able to launch java a program that is a jar file and pass application parms.
Your can use up to version 1.4.2. It must be well documented and tested. It should follow all jdk standards and conventions.
You'll need to complete the shortcut for Windows XP first and deliver it to me. Then complete the remaining versions of windows...
## Deliverables
