Diabetes Monitor Using MIDP Mobile Device and PC

This project requires developing an application which can run on a distributed system comprising PC and various MIDP mobile devices. Patients who suffer from Diabetes must monitor their blood sugar levels in order to ensure that they are following an optimal treatment regime. Diabetic patients take small samples of their own blood several times per day, and process the samples using a simple biochemical test to estimate their blood sugar levels. The purpose of these tests is to enable the patient to maintain his/her blood sugar levels within defined lower and upper limits by a combination of insulin treatment and dietary (lifestyle) control. The application should be able to store the data of blood sugar levels obtained from the simple biochemical tests performed with a relational database stored on a PC. **Objectives ** 1. To become familiar with general principles of programming mobile devices using the Java J2ME/MIDP configuration. 2. To learn how to synchronize a simple mobile device record store with a relational database stored on a PC. 3. To analyze the requirements of a distributed diabetes logging system. 4. To develop and test the application so that it can run on a distributed system comprising PC and various MIDP mobile devices. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
