We use google adwords and we have a huge list of urls. Sometimes we delete urls on our website and then some urls will lead to our:
404 - page not found
We need to have some sort of program or script or something which could help us solve our issue.
Short about what I am thinking.
1: We can take out a list of all urls in Excel format from adwords.
2: Then we need to have some sort of script or something "check" and see if all the urls we have in the list is returning the same value. If not, then we need to "insert" into the excel sheet the values returned from the website.
3: Finally we can then see which urls lead to a wrong url
Example:
In google adwords we have the url: [login to view URL]
Then in january we don't have this offer and close this page. Then this link will return a 404 page. But we still have to pay google adwords for any clicks which is expensive for us.
If we could have a excel script or even some sort of software which would be able to check out (crawl) our list of urls and return those who isn't leading to the same page.
If: [login to view URL] leads to [login to view URL] then we would also like that one listed. So bascially all urls which leads to a different url than the one in the excel sheet (redirects and so on)
I hope this is clear enough?
