Application to Parse URL Data into Different Fields

We receive long lists (hundreds of entries) of transactions via Microsoft Excel files. For each transaction, there is a referring URL in one column and our revenue in another column. We would like an application written that can automatically break these URLs down into the referring domain and the search query, while maintaining the revenue number that is associated with the referring URL. There are about 15 - 20 referring URL structures, all of which vary somewhat. However, in most cases, it looks like the search query is proceeded by ?q=, ?p=, keywords= or a similar field identifier. The search query is usually followed by an ampersand (&) or no further characters, as it is at the end of the url. Note that some URLs omit the search query, so the result will be blank. The domain names nearly all end in either .com or .net, and we want to strip off any subdomains. Example URLs URL: [login to view URL] Output: [login to view URL] (domain) and sample abc def (search query) URL: [login to view URL] Output: [login to view URL] (domain) and sample ghi jkl (search query) The application should be web based and allow us to upload an Excel or CSV file with the URL in the first column and revenue numbers in the second column. The output should be an Excel or CSV file with the domain names in the first column, search queries in the second column and revenue numbers (unchanged) in the third column. The application does not need to store any data. ## Deliverables We will provide selected coder with sample data file.
