Add text to image with PHP GD

I need to generate "certificates of ordination" using a name and a date entered from a form. it should be written in php and use php gd to generate the text. This should be included on a page which displays the form, the image, and provides a "share" link for facebook that will display the generated image and url of the page, along with a heading that includes the name of the person. ## Deliverables I would like the users of the site to be able to post the image or the page to facebook. The generated image should show up on their profile page with a link to the php page. The title that shows up on facebook should be "[Name] is an ordained Dudeist Priest at The Church of the Latter-Day Dude." I don't know how the "posting to facebook" technology works so I'd need you to advise me what is possible and what isn't.
