I need some assistance getting started with what should (I hope) be a fairly simple project. It involves Access and vb.net. I've searched through books and the web for examples but most things I find use datagrids. These are really useful but they don't do what I want. Here goes.
A simple database, [login to view URL], with one table called tblCol. The table has 2 fields (ID and Colour) and currently just 4 records. For ID =1 through 4, Colour is Red, Green, Blue, Yellow. The database is attached in Office 2003 format.
On a single form, I want to display 4 text boxes, with the text property set to the 4 colour values. This has to be done at runtime, because there may actually be anywhere between 2 and 10 colour values returned from the database.
Alongside each textbox is a checkbox also created as part of the loop.
Having done some ASP programming, I know that to display on a web page, I would get a recordset then step through it from start to end, creating a table in HTML.
I've also attached an exe to show what the finished item should look like, but this is completely static.
I don't want to put the whole project out for bids, because I need to learn more coding techniques for myself. Also, i'd like to do the whole thing in code, rather than using the wizard approach. I've tried a couple of forums but without luck. Can anyone help to get me started with this project please?
