I am seeking someone to write code in VB6 to do the following. C and C++ will work but more details will be needed for the bidder. I perfer VB6.

To capture events when a digital camcorder is connected to a laptop or computer using firewire.

Must capture in AVI format and WMV format 2.1 mbps. The quality of video capture must be equal to or greater than the video captured when using Microsoft Movie Maker 2.0.

Must work on Windows XP.

Must capture the digital signal produced when the camcorders record button is pressed. Each time the record button is pressed a time code of the time position and or tape position is sent along the firewire port. When the start button is pressed, I need to be able to record the exact tape postion/time. I would like this to be live if possible so the information can be recorded as the recording is in progress.

I also need the same feature when the camcorder is in the play mode after the video has already been captured and video is being transferred. I need the time/position information.

On the VB form, I will need a picture box or other means to view the video. I also will need a data1 and dbgrid1 component. The information will be saved to the dbgrid1 columns (16) and (17). Which basically means that the first time the start button is pressed then information is passed to column(16) then the next time to columns(17). At that point, the record should be recorded and move onto the next record and so on.

The file is a Microsoft Access .mdb file. The file name of the video should be [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] and the associated data file should be XXXX.mdb.

In closing, if the successful coder can do this in VB and the timestamp/position displayed in a text box…I probably can do the rest myself. Again, the biggest two issues are quality of video captured and collecting the position of the tape in seconds.
