Data Research Tool(repost)

A Data reseach tool/program, written in Visual basic, where: A user will use the program to gather data for me. I will set up the database fields, the user data, which the user will need for verifying acces to certain tables and fields. Then when successfully logged in, the user will be able to see what other users have researched on same topic but not alter any research data but own researched data. The form fields/lists/combo boxes must be "built" on run time depending on the database/table information. So if I chose that a user can not research for a certain field, then it shouldn't show in his research tool at all. One major advantage is that the tool should be able to import from comma-separated-files, excel, access or other other database OR Be able to read data from a web page, get the data and place it on the correct fields on the form. Then saved , when clicked on Save. I want to make sure that several people do not research on same thing and waste time on researching same data. So some how when setting up a user I should be forced to set what the user may research and not. I am open for suggestins. Only VB-code, vb.net is ok too. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. I understand that along the way I and you will have a better idea what exactly I want in this app. 1. all the user setup/data research rights will be set up directly on the DB, so no need to do anything there. Basically when reading the DB, you'll know what fields a user may research. [this is not the most important thing but appericiated if done, else one could use a fixed form for all users] 2. Researching Topics, I add them on the database manually, they appear in the researcher tool, and a researcher can select what to research on. When he has selected a topic, the topic will not be available for others to "manage", just to view. 3. "guestbook" style messaging on every topic researched. 4. statistics(ranking list), showing which researcher has researched what, ie total nr of topics, and when clicked on a list of all topics he has researched. When clicked on a topic, show the research data (printable would be nice, not a must). The whole point with this is to reward the researchers depending on how much they have researched. 4. Source for data reading: - textbox/textarea with CSV data - CSV - Excel - Access - webpage [extra $50] - a data recognition "template" may have to be set up to read data from a web page 5. All topics are visible to all users at all time. • A topic/team research is locked when one users choses to edit it (a non previously edited topic) and when he is finished the topic/team is flaged as finished (still locked) so I can take a look. • users should be able how others research and if they see something wrong they can add a note but they can not alter any data themselves. • 2 Ranking lists, one for teamdata a nd one for topic researches so we list top 10 researchers in each. • webpage reads, this is extra $50, it should be possible to set up a template how data on page is presented for a team and then read for any team by pointing the url in a text field.
