Description:
Build on Drupal 7, or ground up with php, html, css, jscript, ajax, mysql, and similar technologies. I am open to other technologies, if you have suggestions let's talk. Site will run on a linux (redhat or debian) and apache2 host.
No special graphic design at this stage, simple layout only - a tabbed website.
Website should be fully skinnable.
I will provide example websites to show the layout as I envision it at the bottom of this post.
All functionality and documentation must be in place to consider the project a success. Extensive stress testing will occur before payment is made.
The project:
A retail specialty store and penny auction site.
Tab - retail store.
Tab - penny auction.
Tab - FAQ.
Tab - Forums.
Tab - Contact Us.
Shopping cart solution will hook to PAI ([login to view URL]). Shopping cart will include many options offered by gopai - pay full balance by cc, debit, ACH; layaway with terms; maybe others.
Admin panel to edit all aspects of website, including product add/remove/modify on both retail tab and penny auction tab.
For system testing purposes, automatic bidding bots on the penny auction site. These should be administered via the control panel as well.
For penny auction bidders, an automatic bidding bot that they can "set and forget" on a per-auction basis.
For penny auction bidders, we will be selling bid packs so these purchases must be paid for and then the customer bid balance updated.
For penny auction bidders, track purchased bids vs. free bids.
Complete customer purchase history.
New user registration using captcha and email verification.
Forums - can integrate existing forum solution or build from scratch. Forum must adhere to whatever skins are used. Forums will be simple, have only a few different subforums. Threads within each subforum will be unlimited.
Custom log level - normal to debug (I acknowledge that debug level logging could affect system performance and eat up resources).
Robust code documentation - either inline or by data dictionary, or a combination of the two. This is a key aspect of the project and an aspect that is too often neglected.
Hooks to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest so users can brag about what they just purchased on retail or auction side. A bragging user will get X number of free bids on the auction side, this should be administered as part of the admin functionality.
Measure of success:
A successful project will have a well documented, working eCommerce website with a retail tab, a penny auction tab, a FAQ tab, a Contact Us tab, and a Forum tab.

A tabbed website with a scrolling, clickable banner. Below that, product pictures and brief info - click to get more information should be a popup so the users does not leave the page they are on. Assume products will be aligned in a grid - 4 or 5 columns and 3 - 4 - 5 rows per page. I can supply hand-designed mockups of the layout.
The graphic design aspect of the site will be a separate project.
We want this project completed by February 14, 2014. Project start time is ASAP.
