This is an Assessment Project to assist a large Midwest Insurance Co. in migrating from Seagate (now Crystal Decisions) Info 7 to Crystal Enterprise. Crystal Enterprise certification is preferred. This company has established Crystal Enterprise as the corporate report development and management platform. The Assessment Project will include analyzing their current use of Info / Crystal Reports and creating a plan to migrate to Crystal Enterprise and Crystal Reports 8.5. Included will be a technical plan to define optimum workstation and server configurations. Also included in the scope of this project is an overview of Crystal best practices and development standards. The project will require time on-site to conduct analysis, training, and other tasks. Opportunity for a long-term relationship with this client as their Crystal technology utilization is increasing significantly.
## Deliverables
As discussed in the Project Description section, the initial phase of this project is to create an Assessment Plan. To assess the current Crystal Decisions' technology environment (Seagate Info and Crystal Reports) and create a migration plan to Crystal Enterprise. The plan will consist of documentation of the current environment, how the technology is currently configured and deployed, and then a comprehensive plan to define the optimum migration to Crystal Enterprise. The plan will also provide guidance regarding corporate standards -- Crystal Reports 8.5 development standards and best practices, deployment and managment of Crystal Reports using Crystal Enterprise, and optimum workstation and server configurations.
## Platform
Seagate Info is currently running on Windows NT. The corporate standard is to move to Windows 2000 for workstations and servers.
## Deadline information
A portion of the project work will need to be conducted on-site. Crystal certification is highly recommended, preferably Crystal Enterprise certification. Length of project is anticipated to be 6-10 weeks, but may be longer pending initial assessment.
