Skill set: You have to be a seasonal programmer with C++ or C# experience. Need to be familiar with the HTTP 1.1 protocol and webdav protocol. More info here [[login to view URL]][1] Need to be familiar with digest challenge authentication. You will also need a package sniffed to view the communication between the server and client and understand how all work. A free one is here: [[login to view URL]][2] Project Objective: Write a web server which implement HTTP1.1 with webdav. Implementation will be C# (or C++ if you like). If you choose C++ I prefer no MFC or .NET dependency. The server implements basic, and digest challenge authentication. The web server does not need to implement any scripting, ISAPI or CGI engines. I need this only for the webdav protocol, to give uses access to files. I have 80% developed webdav library Class 1 (no locks) in VC++. This library is implemented as an ISAPI extension and work in IIS5. You can use this library if you like as a starting point for the webdav. There are some bugs which need to be iron out (does not work properly with XP SP1 for example). Please note that the library does not handle the “lock?? part of the protocol. Authentication will be against a SQL Server database. I will provide the store procedures needed for this project. You have to do some caching locally of users. I don’t like hitting the database on every request. The software has to run as a service and bind to a particular IP address. Server needs to implement thread pools, request timeouts, request queues. Every user will have its own root path that comes via the same login store procedure. Also a second store procedure needs to be call. This procedure will provide a record set with a list of virtual folders. This virtual folder will have security flags (read, write, delete). The server needs to enforce this security rules. There are some future business rules which need to be enforced namely quota and account lock. After every delete, write and download, a store procedure need to be call it to login the activity. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform W2K
