I Need a low maintenance, basic user friendly, all-in-one digital signage solution for a waiting room display.
A PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) is created on a Windows machine with some simple slide transition effect and individual display time per slide (not part of this job). A Person with basic ppt-knowhow will maintain this presentation and frequently save it to the root directory of a usb stick (ntfs) on a windows machine. This stick will then be inserted in a raspberry pi in the waiting room. After booting the raspberry pi should automatically start looping the presentation with smooth transitions (i have had some issues while playing around on a raspi B+). Furthermore the transition of the slides should be accordingly the predefined display times from the pptx. If an error occurs a technically unskilled Person should be able to just switch off the pi and after reebooting the system would automatically continue looping ppt.
I see different approaches;
- it could be done with open office but i see some problems regarding performace (transitions, reliability, compatibility to ms)
- pptx could be converted to pdf and a seperate file with display times per slide would have to be generated. Furthermore a simple transition effect should be configurable.
It is important, that a totally unskilled person could operate the system as described above. Please make me a fair fix Price offer and give me some references of similar jobs you have done.
