Auto SMS sending module for OpenERP

This is a new module writing project for OpenERP v7. We have the MRO module ([login to view URL]) and the SMS Module ([login to view URL]) installed on our system and both are working properly. SMS module is configured to use the local SMS gateway that we work with and we can send SMS messages from different modules such as Sales etc. The requirement here is to add the section ‘Technical Team’ to the MRO module where we can add the names of the technicians working in our factory, along with their E-Mail addresses and their cell phone numbers. The names must refer to actual employees in the OpenERP system (Human Resources module, not separate entries. We will use the mobile phone number field of the employees. Whenever someone creates a maintenance order or a maintenance request on the system, they should choose the technician or technicians that must be involved in the maintenance order. Whenever the maintenance order or request is submitted or a machine is marked as ‘Down’ (refer to Manage states section of the MRO module), an SMS message must be sent to the chosen technicians. The SMS messages should be sent again at the beginning of each day automatically, until the maintenance order or request is marked as Done, or the machine is marked as Repair or Maintenance in the Manage States section of the MRO module. The SMS Messages must be in the following format: When machine is marked as down in the Manage States section of the MRO Module: %technicianfirstname, %serialno numbered %machinename is marked as down. Check the machine and create the appropriate report on the ERP system. Ref no: %mrorefno When a maintenance order or a maintenance request is made on the MRO Module: %technicianfirstname, %serialno numbered %machinename is needs maintenance. Ref no: %mrorefno Please note that our SMS gateway does not accept the + sign in the phone numbers, so make sure the numbers are formatted properly. We use the Asterisk Click2Dial module ([login to view URL]) and it automatically reformats the phone numbers in the ERP system to have the country codes in the beginning (i.e.: +90), which is not compatible with the SMS Client module. The best method to solve this issue is to slightly modify the SMS Client’s code so that it will remove the + sign whenever it is present in the numbers. This way we will have much better compatibility with the rest of the system.
