Datas structuration

We are an expert team conducting economic surveys. For this we rely on a software we have designed internally. This software requires that we provide an updated database (hereafter called sample or “D”), which we are currently building manually. Now we are looking to do this automatically by building a specific application. This application would: • Integrate two sources of data o one “main” (4000 rows in excel file we extract quarterly or annually) and one “complementary” (3000 rows annually) o contained in 2 separate folders • Consolidate both sources into the same database “D” by o Removing data from “complementary” file that are redundant with the “main” file o Adapt remaining “complementary” data into the “D” format (close to the “main” format) o Aggregate “main” and “complementary” data into “D” format • Provide a dashboard of the characteristics of the observed sample, for error check & quick overview, with: o Permanent analytics, i.e. performance by company in category X, average turnover, etc. o Custom requests, i.e. if I take the 25% best performing companies, give the breakdown by category, year of creation of company, etc. • Further extensions of the software (long term work) could involve crunching more numbers in the application so the DB technology should be able to handle larger volumes of datas. The application is for internal use only, standalone, not web opened, with no automatic links to external files and with few potential users. We have already prepared a description of the rules required to build the application: formatting rules from “complementary” to “D” format, dashboard characteristics, etc. We offer what we estimate to be a fair price as we want an ergonomic application, something easy to install and bugs free. Also, if our collaboration is successful, we may ask for further developments, on the application or on other tools. So there are additional projects on which we could work on together afterwards. Requirements We would like to collaborate with a programmer with great communication. We are the very first to know that good work has a value, so if you invest yourself in delivering high level work, we have no problem to pay for this. Skype/phone/msn meetings are necessary; we may work with people not sharing the same GMT, for this project we will stay awake to communicate if necessary, • who communicates in English, • who demonstrates flexibility in his work. We pay per hour and work on a trusted and fair approach. No specific requirements for payments, we pay as it will be the more convenient for you.
