Hi, I worked with MFCC few years ago for my undergraduate final thesis. I compared the performance of classical MFCC with MPEG 7 Audio Spectrum Projection. I adjust the number of coefficients to be the same number with MPEG7 ASP, before feed them to Gaussian Mixture Models. If you're interested, please message me for interview or discussion.
