How to Choose Baby Bottles
A newborn may be fed, either with breast milk, formula or both. However, when you plan to feed your baby, a bottle is an essential purchase, as it forms a part of the baby’s feeding paraphernalia. A mom that breastfeeds her baby can have her much needed break, when she uses formula in certain instances. Bottles also offer convenience and transportability to parents and babies on the go.
Choosing baby bottles can be a difficult task, as there are a few things to be considered, if you really want to find the best one that will suit your baby’s needs. Buying a baby item is not simply picking what you find first on the shelf and then heading on to the checkout counter. You should look for that type that will make your baby latch onto properly. If you do not choose well, the baby might not be able to use the bottle that you paid for, with a good sum of money.
Some factors to consider, when choosing baby bottles are the bottle body material, bottle body type and shape, nipples, vents and valves. The common materials for baby bottles are plastic, glass and silicon. Plastic bottles are the most popular types because they are lightweight, cost effective and easy to transport. Glass bottles are eco-friendly, but easier to break. Generally, they are heavier than plastic materials, have longer life span, resistant to scratches and easier to clean.
