Based in Los Angeles, Nugg is a high-growth on-demand startup that provides patients across California with easy, quick and professional access to medical marijuana. YOUR ROLE: We are looking for an awesome freelance writer and curator who knows how to use technical platforms to find and deliver rich, brand building content. This role is responsible for producing written work for our blog in the form of articles, product-reviews, checklists, industry interviews, and more with the goal of advancing our editorial calendar and mission. BENEFIT TO YOU: Besides compensation in the range of $10-15 per article ($.01-.015 per word), you’ll become a published author within America’s next great industry, as well as be labeled a thought-leader in the realm of medical cannabis. RESPONSIBILITIES: —Create content for Nugg’s blog including writing promotional, technical, and creative copy———Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our company’s tone and mission. You write clean, concise, well-polished copy. —Curate new content ideas from around the web, cannabis-related newsletters, and through the use of technical tools to discover trends in content-marketing within our industry —You will need a creative writing style that mixes editorial efficiency with a flair for inspiring and motivating customer action. —Must stay on top of medical and recreational cannabis trends and recognize ways to keep Nugg’s content sticky and fresh. —Proofreading and fact checking. 100% accuracy and attention to detail a must. —Take it as your personal mission to make ordering cannabis online surprisingly easy and exciting. —Set goals for yourself and strive to attain them. —Continuously improve yourself and others around you. —Contribute to the company by providing great ideas and feedback. ESSENTIAL SKILLS —An arsenal of words and phrases written for successful blog posts —1+ years (preferable) of content creation/writing experience —Comfort working in and across numerous platforms on the Web. —Work extremely well collaboratively; take constructive criticism. —Excellent communications skills. —Must demonstrate exemplary organizational skills. —Ability to carry out tasks independently. —Self-starter, highly motivated to succeed under minimal supervision. —Very web-savvy and up-to-date with developing tools and methods. —Strong self-motivation and multitasking required, while managing writers to meet daily deadlines. —Experience and/or passion for MMJ is preferred.
