Water
The human body is made up of approximately 70% water. Water is crucial for the sustainment of life and the productivity of our bodies. Contrary to the popular opinion water is not just filler. You need water to maintain your health, and for your organs to function.
Water actively participates in chemical reactions within the body, and in energy producing reactions. Yes we make energy by splitting the water molecules. All the chemical reactions need to be done in a perfect concentration to be efficient. We cannot have water too diluted or too concentrated.
That being said, we need water, lots of water, to flush the system and the toxins out. By the way, the body defense mechanism too many toxins are to retain water so the toxins are diluted.
How much Water do we need?
One of the biggest health issues is the inadequate amounts of water being drunk daily. People tend to drink sports drinks, sugar laden soda, tea, or coffee, instead of reaching for a glass of pure, life sustaining water. These habits of not drinking water lead to health related complications, and sometimes they even create new health issues for the individual. If you want to be healthy, and look your best, then you need to drink the right amount of water each day.
An adult should drink 6-8 glasses (8 oz) glasses of water each day. You will have to develop the habit of drinking this much water, but you will notice over time that your body will start to crave the water.
