This project is to provide the graphic design mockup for an application which will run on ipads that helps diagnose patients suffering from dementia. I'm looking for a Balsimiq mockup or similar tool that I can share with my customer; after that I'll use it to show my application developers what they need to do.
(Include in your proposal what tool you normally use for this sort of thing).
The application gets used by three people:
- clinic staff
- a patient
- a carer
Screens should have a colour scheme or background that reflects who is going to use that screen.
Screen 1 is used by clinic staff. The screen contains a field to enter an id number, and a button to move to the next screen.
Screen 2 is used by the patient; they enter their name and their date of birth.
Screen 3 is used by the patient and is the main thing that the application does. The patient will be presented with pairs of word opposites, e.g. "happy" or "unhappy"; "aggressive" or "nonaggressive"; "angry" or "calm"; and so on. (They will be asked questions from a large bank of questions). There's always a "neither" option. They are supposed to rate themselves based (e.g. if they are feeling happy, they would choose that option). Then it wil present them with the next word pair, then the next word pair, and so on.
My client is unsure about how they want this presented. One option is that they want buttons or the words themselves to be clickable; the other option is that they want a sliding scale.
You'll create mockups of both of these options.
While in the final application screen 3 will show 48 word pairs, you only need to mockup the flow with three pairs.
Keep in mind that the application is going to get used by patients with dementia, so this needs to be a very, very simple UI.
Screen 4 is shown when the patient has finished answering word pairs. It needs to say "hand the ipad to your carer"
Screen 5 is used by the carer. It needs a field where you enter your name. (If the name entered is the same as the patient name from screen 2, it doesn't proceed, it just goes back to screen 4 because it means that the patient is just dreaming on -- it happens.)
Screen 6 is used by the carer. It does the same thing as screen 3, but the prompt is "which of these words describes <patient name>"
Screen 7 is shown when the carer has finished answering word pairs. It says "hand the ipad back to the clinic staff" and has a button for the staff to get back to screen 1.
