Display progress updates in ASP.NET/C#

We are trying to display progress of a large operation on the Front-end. Instead of displaying results at the end, we want to show progress update as it happens. We have created a test project. It is simple page with a button. Upon clicking the button a function is called that updates a label every 3 seconds with the current time. At the end it displays the total time. This is what we require: after clicking the button, every update to the label should be visible on screen as it happens with loading sign. Currently the solution showing the full label at the end of the function. In the chat, we can provide you the Google drive link to download the Test project.
