Add a feature to an exiting HTML5 game (written in Haxe/Flambe)

This is a trial project to try and find a suitable long term partnership, and assess both technical/coding skills and how well you can work within the team. For this specific test project you will be given the source code for a small game and asked to add a feature to it. We are looking for a part time freelance coder to join a tight passionate team developing games for well known big name brands. You will be coding primarily in Haxe using the open-source Flambe framework and associates tools creating games for desktop and mobile devices. However, previous experience with those specific technologies is less important than a passion for games, self motivation and the ability to work to tight deadlines, attention to detail, and good communication skills. In general you'll be building small games from scratch, or extending/modifying/reskinning existing games. You'll be provided with all the graphical and audio assets required, and we can offer a certain amount of training and assistance but you need to be self motivated and able to learn and work on your own. Our existing team is spread across multiple countries, so you'll need to be flexible in terms of communications but the primary timezones we work to are GMT+0 (London, UK), GMT-4 (New York, USA) and GMT+10 (Melbourne, Australia). We use a number of communications tools incuding email, Skype, and IM but our primary tool is Basecamp which you'll be checking regularly to download briefs and assets, discuss work, and upload builds and work summaries. You'll also be committing your code to a git repository. The ideal candidate will have game dev experience and specificly experience coding in haxe/Flambe, although game developmemt experience in any ECMAScript type language (Javascript, Actionscript etc.) would be fine. You won't need major graphical skills, but the ability to make minor edits in Photoshop or a similar tool would be useful, and you will need to prepare spritesheets in Flump or a similar tool from assets provided (again, we can provide training for the right candidate here if needed) Most importantly, you need to include the word "elephant" in your initial reply.
