I have this client who has an application running on his desktop. It listens to a socket (port 2011) and I need my website be able to send a signal to it.

So, basically, what I'm trying to do is this simple:

<script>

connection = new WebSocket('ws://localhost:2011');

[url removed, login to view] = function () { [url removed, login to view]('hello'); };

</script>

What happens is: it doesn't work. The application doesn't get the signal.

I need it to work. Any possible way. Using libraries, using Flash, silverlight, doesn't matter, all I need is for it to work.

Browser: IE10

OS: Windows10

If you can provide several ways to do it, that would be awesome! The more the better! I can't lose this client, it just has to start working!!!
