I have a list of categories (~4,000). I need to assign them to NAICS codes ( [login to view URL] ). Ideally they can be assigned to a more specific 6 digit codes, but if it does not fall into one of them, it can be assigned to the broader codes (4,3,2). NAICS codes are a hierarchy, where the 6 digit code is the most specific.
For example in the spreadsheet, you'll see that:
American Resturant - 7225 | [login to view URL]
While another example
Acura Dealer - 441110 | [login to view URL]
Since American Restaurant can't be categorized by any of the more detail 6 digit codes within 7225, we group it at that level. As for the Acura Dealer, we can categorize it at 441110 because it is described exactly as defined by that code. Ideally, we try to get the 6 digit code for most of them, but some will be a broader code (e.g. the 4, 3, or 2 digit category).
In the spreadsheet attached, it includes all NAICS code options on the second tab. The first tab contains the categories. I've personally assigned 468 of them so far. I'd like to get the remainder of them assigned. You can use the keyword search to find matches: [login to view URL]
Please provide 1 or 2 examples of you mapping one in the spreadsheet. This is to ensure you are reading this and understand the instructions provided. I will only consider those that message that with their submission.
Hi,
First off, I think the spreadsheet attachment is missing.
I can help you to assign the NAICS codes to your list of categories quickly and accurately. For the sample I give 2 categories that I have thought up myself:
American Bank - 522110 (State commercial banks)
Supermarket - 445110 (Supermarkets and Other Grocery (except Convenience) Stores )
