Your task will be to use data which is supplied by vehicle API's to import a list of every auto part, vehicle spec into a virtuemart catalogue. We would like a catalogue that will allow users to find their auto parts using virtuemart search. We already have the website built, with virtuemart installed. The site is live, and virtumart is not in use as it is waiting on vehicle data. We only want the data imported into virtumart for use as a product catalogue. This will involve the use of at least one API, possibly two.
You will create a product taxonomy that allows the user to quickly and easily find parts for their vehicle.
For example. If they have a Audi Q8 and were looking for the tire size, we would like to be able to help guide them through the site to quickly find their tire size...similar to this site: [login to view URL] Similarly we would like them to be able to quickly / easily find their wipers, oil type, or any other auto part that can be purchased from a OEM manufacturer or in store.
We believe that the virtuemart extension "Services - Virtuemart Restful cApi" will allow for the import / export of this data into virtuemart. Your job will be to work with us to import, clean, and organize the data....as well as advise on the best method to accomplish this task.
We encourage you to discuss with us how to accomplish this most effectively as you are going to be the API expert.
