Bash or PHP Script: Ports Blocked List - By ISP , Router , Server

We sell servers and deliver them to our clients.

We have had some nightmares trying to figure out IF ports are blocked, firewall is blocking or ISP is blocking. This needs to be made easier.

We would like an expert in this area to create bash script test which test each beginning with ISP then Router and then Server to make sure we know which device to blame for port blocking.

It is important we known have clear replies from the script for instance:

ISP:

Open Ports: 25,110,993,53,465,389

Blocked Ports: 587,80,995,22,21,143,443,8443,5000,88

ROUTER:

Open Ports: 587,80,995,22,21,143,443,25,110,993,53,465,389,8443,5000,88

Blocked Ports: None

FIREWALL:

Open Ports: 110,993,53,465,389,8443,5000,88

Blocked Ports: 587,80,995,22,21,143,443,25

External Network: From the Outside World - Website & SSH Visitors must first punch through the ISP > Router > Server

If a site is not visible from the outside world (assuming Apache configuration is good) it is going to be because visitors could not punch through the required ports.

Ports can be blocked by 3 places on the way to the website: ISP > Router > Server/Firewall

I need to know what the best solution is to tell me

* Are all common ports ( 587,80,995,22,21,143,443,25,110,993,53,465,389,8443,5000,88 ) open (not blocked) by The ISP, The Router or the Server/Firewall.

* If there is a failure, I need to know

** which ports are not open and

** where is the responsibility ie;

*** ISP is blocking it

*** Router is blocking it

*** Server/Firewall is blocking

Internal Network: From inside their business network - Website & SSH Visitors must first punch through the Internal Router > Server

We have had the situation where we cannot use SSH or view this servers hosted websites while attempting from inside the Internal network.

I need to know what the best solution is to tell me:

* Are all common ports ( 587,80,995,22,21,143,443,25,110,993,53,465,389,8443,5000,88 ) open (not blocked) by The ISP, The Router or the Server/Firewall.

* If there is a failure, I need to know

** which ports are not open and

** where is the responsibility ie;

** Router is blocking it

** Server/Firewall is blocking

Internal Network: Websites hosted on this server are visible from outside world but cannot be viewed from inside the network. (This problem may be a duplicate of the one above.)

If the request is getting past the router and failing on the server. In other words, can we prove this is a server configuration problem and NOT Router or ISP

If the request is being failed due to router settings that we can resolve by changing settings

What settings are we looking for here

If the request is being failed due to ISP settings that require the ISP to resolve and we cannot resolve.

In Closing:

The problems I have had for not knowing these things always takes large amounts of troubleshooting.

I am looking for someone who is EXPERT at such server / hosting / networking problems and also someone who is an EXPERT at bash scripting or PHP (server side) and can create a script that provides clear answers as to what is not working AND most importantly, is the problem at the ISP, Router or Server level and WHY

The results of your script must be very clear to the user.

Thank you.
