The Labview Linux install is RPM based and we use Linux Mint which is DEB based. We need a script to install Labview on Linux Mint. It will need to allow the exact version to be specified since we use different versions for different projects.

You do not have to understand anything about Labview to do this project. What you do need to understand is how RPM and DEB based package management works for Linux.
Alien converts the install packages from .rpm to .deb without dependency issues and the .deb packages install without issues. After installation there are no icons or menu items to start the program.
So the tasks that need to be done are:
1. Install Labview on an RPM based system and determine how the program is executed and how the icons/menus entries work. (If you can learn all this from the .rpm files that's fine too).
2. Write a script (Python or Bash) that will install Labview on Linux Mint with the same functionality as the RPM version.
3. Send us the script so we can try it.
